The 1756-L55 module is a processor module that is often used in ControlLogix industrial environments. This processor module is designed and produced by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation and it is considered to be a component of high quality and top-level performance. The ControlLogix 1756 series provides various models of controllers and memory boards that are built in accordance with the North American and European industrial standards and regulations. The 1756-L55 processor module comes without any user memory but it includes a 1756-BA1 battery. The module has a backplane current of 1.23 to 1.25 Amps at 5.1 Volts DC and backplane current of 0.014 Amps at 24 Volts DC. The unit has an isolation voltage of 30 Volts (continuous) and it has a basic insulation type with an RS-232 communication port. In addition to that, it should be mentioned that this type of module is tested to withstand a voltage of 707 Volts DC for the duration of 60 seconds. The 1756-L55 module dissipates a power of 5.6 to 5.7 Watts and it has a thermal dissipation of 19.1 to 19.4 BTU per hour. The enclosure of the unit is open and its operating temperature ranges from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). The storage temperature range is -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit). The 1756-L55 module weighs around 0.35 kilograms or 12.5 ounces. Also, the product has a T4 IEC temperature code and it uses either the 1756-CP3 or 1747-CP3 serial cable.
