Functional Description:The 5466-355 is a Remote Chassis Transceiver developed by Woodward. It is designed specifically for CPU 68040 systems. This module facilitates the exchange of control, data, and address information between the Main XCVR module and other system components via cable.
Component Installation:
There are no switches or LEDs on the Remote XCVR module.
All expansion chassis except the last one in the chain should utilize the Remote XCVR module without termination resistors.
The module must be installed in Slot 11.
The Remote XCVR module with termination resistors is to be used in the final expansion chassis, also installed in Slot 11.
Features:
The bus receiver/driver of the Remote Transceiver module communicates with the VME bus, exchanging control, data, and address information.
The chassis decoder activates the receiver/driver of this chassis’ Remote Transceiver module to receive or send information.
It employs a parallel interface utilizing high-speed differential line drivers operating seamlessly at the VME transmission rate.
The system's cable connectivity is established through 100-pin metal shell Micro-D connectors, with two connectors allocated for each module. This design ensures robust and dependable connections, enhancing communication reliability and system performance.
